I grew up in Bakersfield; attended local schools, graduated from Highland High School, and Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Child Development. I received my teaching credential in the state of Maryland. In 2005 I completed my  Masters in Reading and Literacy from Walden University.

This is my 25th year of teaching grade school students, my 16th year at Norris Elementary . I was fortunate enough to live in Hong Kong and teach there as well,  I taught Kindergarten for three years at Hong Kong International School. I moved to Rockville, Maryland and taught Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grades in the Montgomery County Public School system.

I returned to Bakersfield in 2005 and joined the Norris staff. When I was hired I taught 1st grade, moved to 3rd, then 4th, back to 1st and now happily teaching 2nd grade. Teaching is a wonderful and full-filling experience, one never knows what tomorrow will bring. I thank you for sharing your children with me.
