Playground Rules


1.       Snack area – snacks are only allowed in this area at the 9:35 am recess.  Children make a

          'thumbs up' sign, then clean up their trash before going to play when the teacher calls on them.
 2.      Students may not ‘play’ in the snack area.
 3.      Slides – only slide down on bottom with feet first.  Cannot go ‘up’ the slide or lay on their

          bellies.
 4.      Lily pads – one direction only.
 5.      Cannot run on, or play on the outside of, the equipment.
 6.      Cannot sit on the outside of the play equipment.
 7.      Bark – cannot play with, kick, or throw.
 8.      Grass Area – no roughhousing (tackling, wrestling, pushing, etc)
 9.      Grass Area – please do not pick or throw grass.
 10.    Caterpillar – one direction only (towards the Kindy restrooms).
 11.    Dome – This is only for climbing – go up, hang, drop, and get out! No playing underneath.
 12.    No climbing on the fence!
 13.    Students may not stand or sit on the tables. Tables are to stay under the covered area.
 14.    No balls in the hallway or walkway.
 15.    During afternoon recess, students may not use the restrooms and fountains between rooms 2

          and 3.

          Instead, they should use the restrooms located between rooms 6 and 7.
 16.    Students may not be in the gazebo area (where the tables are) during afternoon recess.
 17.    Kick the balls in the direction of the long way (East-West), not towards the classrooms or bark

           (North-South)

***Little brothers and sisters are never allowed on the equipment.  They are too small and could be injured.***

Tricycle Rules

1.    Stay on the track
2.    Go the correct direction (counter-clockwise)
3.    No standing up or hanging off the tricycles or wagons
4.    No bumping into other tricycles
5.    No racing
6.    Stop when the whistle blows

7.    During the 9:35 am recess, only the students of the teacher on snack duty may ride the tricycles.

8.    During lunch recess, the lunch aides will determine which classes may ride the tricycles each

       day.
9.    Have fun and share
