Welcome! 

My name is Misty Horack and I am so excited to be a part of the Norris Elementary Fifth Grade team!  More importantly, I am thrilled to be your child's teacher!  It's going to be a fun year, full of new experiences and lots of learning.  I can't wait to see what the school year has in store for us!

I was born and raised in Bakersfield.  After high school, I attended Bakersfield College, then went on to obtain my BS in Liberal Studies and my Clear California Teaching Credential from California State University Bakersfield.  I minored in Art Education, and I love to integrate creativity and art into everything we do in the classroom.

I have two amazing teenage daughters who keep me busy.  They both are considering teaching as a profession, and that makes me so proud!  There is no better career in the world.

This will be my 7th year teaching 5th Grade in Rm.29.  I strive to create a safe, warm, and FUN classroom environment, where students enjoy the learning process.  "This is our HAPPY place!"

This year is full of opportunity.  It's going to be one we all remember, so let's make it the best it can be!
